Frequently asked questions

Answers about language exchange, the app, safety, and devices.

Getting started

Is Linglo free?

Yes. You can download Linglo and use core language exchange features without paying.

Some optional extras may be offered as in-app purchases. Anything paid is labeled clearly in the store and in the app.

Where can I download Linglo safely?

Only use official stores. Linglo is published on Google Play, the Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore, and Huawei AppGallery. This site has a download page that lists every link in one place.

Do not install random APK files or copies from forums. They are not from us and may be unsafe.

How do I set up my profile and start?

After you install, create an account and add the languages you speak fluently and the ones you want to learn. Complete your profile so partners know what to expect.

Then explore the community, send a short introduction, or reply to someone who matches your goals. Short, regular practice usually beats rare long sessions.

Which languages are available?

The community includes many languages. What you see depends on who is active when you use the app.

You will find learners and partners across English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Arabic, and more. Set your languages in the app to get relevant suggestions.

Language exchange and features

What is language exchange on Linglo?

You help someone learn your native language, and they help you learn theirs. Most of that happens through real chats and voice messages, so you hear how people actually speak.

It is not a fixed curriculum. You choose topics, pace, and partners, within the rules of the community.

How do I find partners?

Use your profile languages and interests to find people who fit what you want to practice. You can start with text and move to voice when you are comfortable.

Be clear about your level and goals. Good matches are often people with similar time zones or shared interests, not only the same target language.

Can I practice speaking and writing?

Yes. Text chat and voice messages are the main ways to practice producing language and to listen to replies.

Exactly which options appear can depend on your app version and device. If something looks different after an update, check the in-app help or contact us.

What is Topic Battle?

Topic Battle is a separate game mode inside the app. Two people write on the same topic within a time limit, and others may vote on the result.

It is optional and not required for normal language exchange. Open Topic Battle from the app to see current rules and timing.

Can Linglo replace a course or exam prep?

Linglo is built for real conversation, not for a fixed syllabus. It pairs well with classes, tutors, or exam books because you apply what you study in live chats.

If you have a test date, keep using your course materials for structure, and use Linglo for fluency, listening, and natural phrasing.

Safety and privacy

Is Linglo appropriate for teenagers?

Store ratings list Linglo for teens and older. We expect respectful behavior and give tools to report or block users.

Parents should still talk with teens about online safety, just like on any app where you meet new people.

How can I stay safe with new partners?

Keep personal details private at first. Do not send money, passwords, or copies of ID. Move slowly from public-style chat to anything more personal.

If someone pressures you, shares inappropriate content, or makes you uncomfortable, stop replying, block them, and report the account through the app.

Where can I read how my data is used?

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and your choices. You can open it from this website and from the app.

For account deletion or data questions, email us at [email protected] from your registered address when possible.

Devices, login, and support

I cannot log in. What should I try?

First check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then fully close the app and open it again. If login still fails, wait a few minutes in case our servers are busy, then retry.

If the problem continues, email [email protected] from the email tied to your account. Tell us whether you see an error message, a blank screen, or a loop, and which sign-in method you use. Screenshots help.

What phones and tablets are supported?

Linglo runs as a mobile app on Android and iOS. A reasonably recent phone or tablet with a stable connection works best for messages and voice.

You cannot use Linglo inside a desktop web browser on this marketing site. Use the app from an official store for the full experience.

Do I need to speak English to use Linglo?

No. You set the languages you speak and those you are learning, then find partners who match.

Many people use Linglo when English is not their first language. Write in whatever language you need help with, and be patient with yourself and others.

How fast do you answer email?

We read every message to [email protected], but we do not promise a fixed response time. Clear subject lines and the details above make it easier to help you quickly.

For urgent safety issues, use in-app reporting first when that is available.
